Role Overview

We are actively seeking a passionate, motivated, and detail-oriented WordPress Developer Intern to join our growing remote team. This internship is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to kick-start their careers in web development and gain meaningful, hands-on experience on live projects in a structured, professional environment.

As a WordPress Developer Intern, you will work directly with our experienced design and marketing teams to build, manage, and maintain responsive, visually appealing, and user-friendly WordPress websites. You will be exposed to industry-standard tools and best practices that will significantly sharpen your technical skills and prepare you for a full-time role in web development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in the development, customization, and ongoing maintenance of WordPress websites for clients across various industries
2. Customize and modify WordPress themes to align with client branding, design preferences, and layout requirements
3. Support the team in website optimization efforts, including improving page load speed, mobile responsiveness, and implementing basic on-page SEO practices
4. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website bugs, issues, and technical errors promptly
5. Collaborate with team members to implement website updates, content changes, and new feature integrations as per client requirements
6. Ensure all websites are fully responsive, cross-browser compatible, and deliver a seamless user experience
7. Participate in team meetings, contribute ideas, and provide progress updates on assigned tasks
8. Maintain organized documentation of changes, updates, and workflows for future reference

Requirements

1. Basic understanding of WordPress, including themes, plugins, and the dashboard
2. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic PHP (preferred but not mandatory)
3. A genuine willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously grow within the field of web development
4. Basic understanding of website structure, UI/UX principles, and design fundamentals
5. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
6. Ability to meet deadlines, manage time efficiently, and follow instructions in a structured work environment

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)

1. Hands-on experience with page builders such as WPBakery, Elementor, or similar tools
2. Basic knowledge of e-commerce and WooCommerce website setup
3. A personal, academic, or freelance portfolio showcasing previous projects
